Great article Lewis - I would add that one of the risks of generative text is that of inbuilt bias - the ability of a system to reach a steady state (game of life on 8 bit spectrum anyone?) whereby new material gets generated from a limited set of data, then reinforces that perspective like a resonating bubble. Humans already struggle with this unconscious bias, and it takes a critical eye to escape some of the social media algorithms - what hope does ai have to breach this constraint?
